A partial system outage, relating to the Scarborough inshore satellite-linked receiver, has been resolved and the Shark Monitoring Network is now fully operational again.

Update on 10 February at 11.30am

The partial system outage for the Shark Monitoring Network, relating to the Ellen Cove satellite-linked receiver has now been resolved. This concluded maintenance means the Shark Monitoring Network is now fully operational again.

Update on 10 February at 11.40am

When the 5 February update was issued, there was an error because it overlooked the fact that the Shark Monitoring Network satellite-linked receiver at Ellen Cove was off-line due a technical fault, which had caused an unrelated outage on 4 February. Please note the Ellen Cove receiver was returned to service this morning and the Shark Monitoring Network is now fully operational again.

• Contractor appointed to operate the non-lethal drumlines
• Training for the contractor will occur ahead of the full deployment of the drumlines

Update on 29 December at 6pm

Officers from the Department of Conservation and Attractions have successfully removed the dead dolphin from Dalyellup beach.

Beach users should continue to take caution as the residue of the carcass may continue to act as a shark attractant.
