Surf Life Saving WA Life Savers have reopened Secret Harbour Beach, following a reported shark interaction on 22 March.

Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development recommend additional caution in the Secret Harbour Beach area.

A shark WARNING has been issued for Warnbro Sound in the City of Rockingham after an increased number of reported shark detections.

A shark WARNING has been issued for The Lagoon, Yallingup in the City of Busselton after a reported shark incident.

Update on 12 March 2025 at 3:35 pm

Following Monday’s reported shark incident, the Shire of Esperance have reopened Wharton Beach, Cape Le Grand National Park. 

DPIRD recommends additional caution in the Wharton Beach area.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is currently investigating a reported shark bite incident at Duke of Orleans Bay in the Shire of Esperance.

Alert level:

A shark WARNING has been issued for Blackwall Reach, Swan River in the City of Melville after a reported shark interaction.

Update on 17 February at 9:45 am

Officers from the City of Greater Geraldton have now removed the whale carcass from Greys Beach and the beach has been reopened.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from the whale carcass may still attract sharks to the area.

Services have been restored to the Cowaramup Bay (north) Shark Monitoring Network receiver.

Update on 7 February at 2:25 pm

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) have advised that the whale carcasses located at Fall Point Beach and Crab Creek Beach are no longer in place.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.
