Update on 1 August 2026 at 4:10 pm

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have successfully removed the dolphin carcasses from the Princess Royal Harbour. 

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the carcass was beached may attract sharks to the area.

Services have been restored to the Cowaramup Bay (north) Shark Monitoring Network receiver.

Update on 25 July at 07:40 am 

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) have been advised that the whale carcass in Sulphur Bay has been successfully removed.   

Additional caution is recommended by DPIRD, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may attract sharks to the area.

Services have been restored to the land-based Shark Warning System (tower) at Cove Surf Break, Cottesloe.

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) have successfully removed the whale carcass from Ten Mile Lagoon Beach, west of Esperance. 

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may attract sharks to the area.
