If you see a shark, report it to Water Police on 9442 8600.

Alert level:

A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a whale carcass being reported at Pelican Point near Coral Bay in the Shire of Carnarvon.

Alert level:

A shark ADVICE has been issued for Gracetown water users, due to a partial outage in the Shark Monitoring Network at Cowaramup Bay (north).

Update on 8 July at 5:00 pm

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have successfully removed the whale carcass from Jurien Bay Boat Harbour. 

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have completed the incident response regarding the whale stranding incident at House Beach, near Bremer Bay. 

Several whales are now deceased and will remain in place to naturally decompose.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as the slowly decomposing whale carcasses may attract sharks to the area.
