Shark ADVICE for the WA Shark Monitoring Network – Esperance

Update on 1 July at 11:55am

Upgrades to the Esperance shark monitoring receivers have been completed and are now operational. The Ocean Reef and 3.5km off Trigg receivers remain offline.

Shark ADVICE for Myalup Beach near Bunbury

Current Alerts and Warnings

Update on 23 June at 4:20pm

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have successfully removed the whale carcass from Myalup Beach.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Shark ADVICE for Jurien Bay in the Shire of Dandaragan

Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development Fisheries Officers now advise the whale carcass that was at BEN sign DN404, Jurien Bay has now been removed.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department if Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Shark ADVICE for Normans Beach near Albany

Rangers from the City of Albany have inspected the area and the whale carcass is no longer in place at Normans Beach, east of Albany.

The beach has been reopened by the City of Albany.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department if Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.
