Shark ADVICE for the WA Shark Monitoring Network

Current Alerts and Warnings

Update on 9 June at 9:15am

Services have been restored to the Shark Monitoring Network receivers located at:

  • Strickland Bay, Rottnest
  • Smiths Beach, Yallingup 
  • Lefthanders, Gracetown
  • Ellen Cove, Albany
  • Frenchman Bay, Albany

Receivers located at Cowaramup Bay North and South, Gracetown remain offline and require further onsite maintenance to restore service to these receivers.

If you see a shark, report it to Water Police on 9442 8600.

Shark ADVICE for Coodamurrup Beach east of Windy Harbour

Updated on 30 May at 5:00pm 

Officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have inspected the area where the whale carcass was located at Coodamurrup Beach, east of Windy Harbour and have advised that it is no longer in place.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Shark INCIDENT for Kurrajong Campground, Cape Range National Park near Exmouth

Beaches between Pilgramunna and Bloodwood Creek in the Cape Range National Park near Exmouth have been reopened by Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, following a shark incident on Saturday 29 April 2023. 

Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development recommend additional caution in the Cape Range National Park area.
