Shark ADVICE for Salmon Beach, near Windy Harbour

Alert level:

A shark ADVICE has been issued due to the skeletal remains of a large whale carcass coming ashore. The carcass is located approx. 370 meters south of the “MJ502” Salmon Beach BEN sign, near the town of Windy Harbour.

The City of Busselton has re-opened beaches in Bunker Bay. 

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development recommends additional caution in Bunker Bay and the surrounding area.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) advise that the technical fault for the shark warning system located at The Womb, south of Gracetown is now resolved.

A shark ADVICE has been issued due to part of a whale carcass being reported at Lights Beach in the Shire of Denmark.

Shark ADVICE for Cape Leschenault near Seabird

Current Alerts and Warnings

Update on 14 July at 1:30pm

Rangers from the Shire of Gingin have inspected the beaches adjacent to the Seabird townsite and the remains of the whale carcass are no longer present in the area. 

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as residue from the whale carcass may still attract sharks.
