Officers from the City of Mandurah have now removed the whale carcass from Pyramids Beach near Dawesville in the City of Mandurah.
The beach has been reopened by the City of Mandurah.
Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may attract sharks to the area.

A shark WARNING has been issued for Ocean Reef in the City of Joondalup after a reported shark interaction.

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have successfully removed the whale carcass from Donnelly River Mouth, east of Augusta.
Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

The start of this year’s salmon run along WA’s South and South-West coasts looks to be right on time for the Easter school holidays.
With holidaymakers hitting the beach for surfing, fishing and swimming – staying safe during the Autumn salmon run is important and avoiding the large schools of fish which can attract sharks, seals, sealions and dolphins inshore.
