Officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have successfully removed the whale carcass from Belvidere Beach near Australind.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development will return to routine coastal patrols in the Lighthouse Bay area today.

Technicians have now completed repairs to the shark warning system at Ellensbrook, south of Gracetown.

All shark warning systems in the Gracetown area are now fully operational.

The City of Wanneroo has re-opened beaches near the Alkimos wreck.

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions has removed the whale carcass from the eastern end of Flinders Bay near Scott River in the Shire of Augusta Margaret River.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from the whale carcass may still attract sharks to the area.

SMART drumlines will not be deployed on Saturday 22 February between Gracetown and Gallows surf break due to maintenance operations being undertaken on the SMART Drumline undersea array.
