Shark ADVICE for Carnac Island near Fremantle

Current Alerts and Warnings

Update on 12 July at 9:15am

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have successfully removed the sea lion carcass from Carnac Island.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the sea lion carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

The shark monitoring receivers located at 3.5km off Trigg and Ocean Reef remain offline.

Shark ADVICE for Normans Beach near Albany

Rangers from the City of Albany have inspected the area and the whale carcass is no longer in place at Normans Beach, east of Albany.

The beach has been reopened by the City of Albany.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department if Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.
