Rottnest Island Rangers have reopened The Basin.

Additional caution is recommended by DPIRD in The Basin, Longreach Bay Beach and Pinky Beach area, as any residue from the whale carcass may attract sharks to the area.

If you see a shark, report it to Water Police on 9442 8600.

Officers from the Town of Cottesloe have now removed the whale carcass from Grant Street Beach, in the Town of Cottesloe.

The beach has been reopened by the Town of Cottesloe.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may attract sharks to the area.

A shark ADVICE has been issued for Cottesloe water users due to a technical fault affecting the land-based shark warning system (tower) at Cove Surf Break, Cottesloe.

A shark ADVICE has been issued for Gracetown water users due to a technical fault affecting the land-based shark warning system (tower) at South Point.

A shark ADVICE has been issued for Prevelly water users due to a partial outage in the Shark Monitoring Network at Margaret River Main Break.

A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a whale carcass being reported at Hill River, south of Jurien Bay in the Shire of Dandaragan.

A shark ADVICE has been issued for Fremantle water users due to a fault affecting the land-based shark warning system (tower) at Port Beach in the City of Fremantle.

A shark ADVICE has been issued for Gnarabup water users due to a technical fault affecting the land-based shark warning system (tower) at Gas Bay in the Shire of Augusta Margaret River.

Alert level:

A shark ADVICE has been issued for Prevelly water users due to a technical fault affecting the land-based shark warning system (tower) at Surfers Point in the Shire of Augusta Margaret River.

Alert level:

A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a whale carcass being reported at Flat Rock Beach in South Greenough, in the City of Greater Geraldton.
