Officers from the City of Albany have inspected the area where the whale carcass was located at Lowlands Beach and have advised that it is no longer in place.

Shark warning signs have been removed by the City of Albany.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

A shark WARNING has been issued for water users in the northern suburbs of the Perth metropolitan area for beaches, surf and dive spots between Mullaloo Beach and Hillarys Boat Harbour in the City of Joondalup, after an increased number of reported shark sightings.
